The “Treat” Vault
Cravings are going to hit all of us. No matter how hard you try, no matter what you do to avoid it, it’s gonna get you.
For me at least, SEEING the food that I want to eat (but know I shouldn’t be) everyday is eventually going to wear me down so I crack… and then eat the entire bag of candy.
How do I combat this? HIDE YO (unhealthy) SNACKS
At our house we put all of the kids unhealthy treats and our “only on cheat meal” snacks in one of two spots:
- ONE is in the back of our pantry behind a whole bunch of healthy food so that you never see them accidentally when you are looking for something else
- TWO is up on top of our fridge, in a wicker basket with a little box on top. I like putting stuff here I especially want (marshmallows for example), because there is this whole ordeal you have to go through to get to them. Reach up, take down basket, take box off basket, take top off basket, look inside, open bag… normally by that time I have been able to talk myself out of it.
I know it sounds silly, but seriously, keep them snacks out sight and out of mind… your body will thank you for it!
